Ann E. Webb Professional Experience: Ms Webb has over 20 years of experience working on complex commercial litigation in the state and federal courts of Texas and Louisiana and before domestic and international arbitration tribunals and appellate matters of all kinds. She has argued appeals before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and numerous Louisiana and Texas appellate Courts. Ann began her legal career by clerking for the Honorable John R. Brown, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. After entering private practice, she participated in extensive domestic and international litigation, including a Public Enquiry in Aberdeen, Scotland, following the 1988 explosion of the Piper Alpha North Sea oil and gas production platform. Ann’s international arbitration experience includes management of a billion dollar contractual dispute and has also prepared insurance coverage opinions in a variety of marine and land-based insurance disputes. Ann’s appellate experience includes the preparation of more than 50 appellate briefs and fifteen oral arguments. More recently, Ms. Webb has focused on international arbitration, including obtaining and enforcing significant international arbitration awards. Ms. Webb’s prior employment experience includes: serving as Senior Counsel with Buck, Keenan LP; Staff Attorney – Appellate Team at Fulbright & Jaworski; and as an associate with Vinson & Elkins Admiralty and General Litigation sections. Ms. Webb has been involved in a wide variety of matters during her career and a sample of her body of work includes: an international arbitration proceeding involving a $10 billion concession agreement with a foreign sovereign involving natural gas processing and rural electrification; litigation to recover a multi-million arbitration award against Russian oil company; litigation concerning construction and failure of a calcium chloride facility in Louisiana; litigation concerning sale of pension products disallowed by IRS; breach of a distributorship agreement concerning a Canadian company; maritime litigation concerning damage to a chemical cargo vessel owned by a foreign sovereign; employment litigation concerning claims of whistle-blower discrimination; and multi-suit litigation arising out of losses sustained under gas trading contracts.
